Tag Art Swap

Just another quick share today, this months Funky Flair Studio Art Swap.

This is this months Moodboard

And these are my takes on the challenge.  I had a few ideas and I wanted to try them all out so there are a few extras.

These are them close up.

And here is a close up of the tag I decided to swap.

Tag Swap

Another tag swap I participated in this month.

Here is the Moodboard…

I took inspiration from the colours, the letters and the idea that Lady Gaga is a big voice that is very empowered and stands up for her what she believes in.  She isn’t anyones puppet.

I focused on the message that I wanted to portray this time round rather than any heavy texture or media.  This Viva Las VegaStamp! was perfect.  I also had the initial idea to be cutting the strings with scissors but I didn’t have any stamps or chipboard pieces in my stash.  I came across this saw and thought, yep it’s a little drastic, would make a mess but cutting strings is what it is all about.

Discover | Tag Swap

Ugh. My blog posts are piling up on my desk top and I need to get them written and videos made before it is full and tells me I need to make space.

So here is a quick one that doesn’t have a process video.  It is a tag that I made for this months Funky Art Swap.  This month is a Tic Tac Toe.  I chose to go with the right hand three squares.  Flair, Dusts and Stamping.

And here is my tag.  I used some Rainbow Splendour bits, added in some stamping (in particular some Viva Las VegaStamps!), some Colour Blast Australia Shimmer Dusts and a lot of layers and I am really happy.  I was going for a vintagey steampunk feel.

Here is a close up too:

How awesome is that wood Veneer from Rainbow Splendour.  I have to say Chloe’s designs are freaking amazing.

A Bowie Inspired Tag Swap.

This month I only participated in one tag swap.  The other is on a break to give everyone a chance to recover from Christmas. I was a bit disappointed to start with as I really enjoy making tags, but as the Christmas season recovery started I was grateful.  I was feeling a bit behind this month, having my husband home on holidays really messes with our routine and my Scrapping time.

Anyways, I am back on top and here is the moodboard:

I took inspiration from the Bowie picture and the words.  I teamed them with my Viva Las VegaStamps! and some Donna Downey words and a bit of free hand work and this is what I came up with.

This is what the skeleton started out as…

It’s pretty amazing how versatile some things are when you think out side of the box.

I added a little texture in the form of Colour Blast Colour Paste…

Hopefully, my swap partner likes it.

Funky Art Tag Swap

This month is the last of this years Funky Art Swaps until February next year.  This month it wasn’t a full moodboard but rather one picture.

I created two tags inspied by this picture.  One to send to my swap partner and one to send overseas to a Get Messy Christmas swap partner.

These are the two tags I created.

There is collaging, embossing, stamping and a bit of gluing on both tags and I love how they turned out.

Here are a few close ups:

There is a process video too, so head over to my YouTube channel – Popleopod and check it out.

Scrapping Clearly Tag Swap

This months Scrapping Clearly tag swap was an awesome one.  As soon as I saw it I knew I was going to draw inspiration from the top left diamonds picture and the shoes.  This is the moodboard:

And this is my tag:

I used a stamp of my favourite shoes Dr Martens and then added all the colour and texture in the required colours.  I added some buttons to tie in the buttons on the boots on the moodboard.  I lost a lot of the background work under all of the layers but you can see some of the checkers peeking out at the top of the tag.  I used my gelatos to create the hatched effect.  Then over the top I applied some workable fixative before adding some old pattern, stamping and some Colour Blast Colour Paste in Deep Water.  I kept the shoes media free and just fussy cut them so that they stood out against the busy background.

I hope my swap partner likes it.

Go Suns! | Stuck?! Sketches

This is another new challenge for me that I finally had time to play along with this month.   Stuck?! Sketches have you played along before?  This is this months sketch.

I took this sketch turned it on its side, used a panoramic photo and this is what I came up with.

Here are a few close ups too:

I have been saving this little lifesaver flair button for a long while and this was the perfect layout for it.
