Today I am sharing my Scrap the Girls Design Team Layout for this month.
This month the challenge was “First, let me take a Selfie”
And here is my take on the challenge.
There is a process video on POPLEOPOD YouTube so I won’t go into all the details you can just watch me create it. So check it out and let me know what you think.
Oh, and here are a few close ups:
Another tag swap I participated in this month.
Here is the Moodboard…
I took inspiration from the colours, the letters and the idea that Lady Gaga is a big voice that is very empowered and stands up for her what she believes in. She isn’t anyones puppet.
I focused on the message that I wanted to portray this time round rather than any heavy texture or media. This Viva Las VegaStamp! was perfect. I also had the initial idea to be cutting the strings with scissors but I didn’t have any stamps or chipboard pieces in my stash. I came across this saw and thought, yep it’s a little drastic, would make a mess but cutting strings is what it is all about.
Today I am sharing a Masculine Card I made. The card I created I wanted to be very neutral. What I mean by neutral is Occasion neutral. Something that is clearly masculine but could be used for any thing. This is what I came up with….
It’s not secret I love grunge. So I created a grungy embossed background that I then layered embossed chipboard over the top before adding a stamped fussy cut image.
The Colour Blast Embossing Powder is super shiny and difficult to photograph.
As for the stamped man, he is from A Stampers Anonymous collection of stamps I recently purchased with this task in mind. I coloured him using the new Colour Blast Shimmer Powders. I’m not much into fussy cutting but I think I might do it more often as it is a great way to use your stamps.
There is a process video that goes along with this card too you can check it out here
Today I am sharing my most recent layout for Colour Blast Australia. This layout is made up of a whole heap of scraps, colours, chipboard, stamping and that’s about all.
I literally used scraps to build my base. You can read all about it on the Colour Blast blog.
Ugh. My blog posts are piling up on my desk top and I need to get them written and videos made before it is full and tells me I need to make space.
So here is a quick one that doesn’t have a process video. It is a tag that I made for this months Funky Art Swap. This month is a Tic Tac Toe. I chose to go with the right hand three squares. Flair, Dusts and Stamping.
And here is my tag. I used some Rainbow Splendour bits, added in some stamping (in particular some Viva Las VegaStamps!), some Colour Blast Australia Shimmer Dusts and a lot of layers and I am really happy. I was going for a vintagey steampunk feel.
Here is a close up too:
How awesome is that wood Veneer from Rainbow Splendour. I have to say Chloe’s designs are freaking amazing.
Just a quick share today to share my latest layout for Flutterby Designs. This layout is featuring the Mad About You collection and my very annoying Husband. I’m pretty sure he wasn’t always this annoying.
There is a process video to so head over to POPLEOPOD on YouTube and check it out.
This month we have a new design team over at Scrap the GirlsScrap the Girls and the girls are on fire. This year I have decided to change things up a little with the challenges and I will be introducing theme challenges too. So that is something to look out for.
This month though, to ease the girls in we just have a sketch challenge.
This is my layout:
I really love this layout it is featuring the new 7Dots Studio collection called Cotton Candy. It is beautiful and so easy to work with.
I threw in a bit of a Colour Blast Shimmer Dust mixed media background and some Viva Las VegaStamping and BAM! it was done.
There is a process video too so head over to Popleopod on YouTube and check it out.
