Kraft + December Challenge

This layout was in hiding as it was accepted for print by the change over of publishers was a big mess.  I have been given the all clear to share.  I created this layout over a year ago.

This challenge was an easy one – Kraft + Travel + Map. We spent two years living abroad and travelling before we got married so I have plenty of travel photos to choose from. This is a selfie taken at the Colosseum in Rome.

All my maps are glued into a smash book so I emailed my husband at work and asked him to print off one for me. Both in colour and black and white. This is the only one he came home with so, I had to work with it. I’ve used it like a matte behind my photo but I also matted it to make it a bit of a focus.

How awesome is the leather strap tape that I picked up the other day. I should have got more.  And the Flutterbys Flair is just perfect.

Charms Creations Australia Day Map Marker Challenge

…This post was originally published in January 2016 but I had to recall it as this layout got picked up for publishing.  In keeping with their requirements, I had to withdraw this layout from social media until 1 month clear of publishing.  I am now in the all clear to share it again…

I’ve realised that around the third week of my blog it’s a little quiet but don’t worry there’s plenty to come.

Today I’m sharing all Australia Day layout I’ve created for Charms Creations Australia Day Challenge.

This photo is of my son I took last year and have had printed and sitting on my desk all that time. Finally, I worked out what to do with it.

I’ve created my background using chalks and I also altered a DIY Charms Creations map marker that way too. I added some hand stitching and so rub ons I’ve been saving for a very long time and I don’t know why. The flair is from my stash and the opera house card is a Project Life card.

It turned out way better than I expected.

Here are some of the details too:

I will also have a video up on YouTube very soon so head over and subscribe so you don’t miss it.

ART Layout

This layout I designed for Rainbow Splendour for my share this month.  I was inspired by the triangles on the pin.

So, I used impasto paste through a Flutterby Designs stencil and then sprayed co-coordinating colours of Colour Blast Colour Spray over the top.  The trick is to make sure you dry each colour before adding the next.  This limits the amount of colour mixing that happens.  It still mixes just not as much.

For some reason this photo looks a little dull but in real life it is pretty cool.

Lets go Explore

I have some big things happening down the track so I am in the process of getting my layouts sorted and shared rather than having them sit waiting.  Waiting for what I have no idea maybe just time to sit down and blog them.  I am currently waiting for another process video to save, so why not blog and share these layouts especially as this one is a perfect Rainbow Splendour share.  Check out those wood veneer planes.  My favourite of all the RS woods.

This is a heavy mixed media background with lots of texture so I kept the veneer raw to make it pop.

Me & My Girl

This layout was another option to a design team layout I was working on.  I created three different layouts and had a friend choose the one she thought best fit the criteria.

This layout started off differently, turned into an art journal page then I started again and the finished product is exactly what I imagined.

Two more layouts using the “Fur-ever Friends” collection.  These two layout are actually about real life pets.  The first one is my mum’s dog Pinto, who to this very day, isn’t convinced my daughter is a person.  These photo were taken when she was almost a year old and she is four now.  Still, he always has to make sure both front and back, that she isn’t a dog.  Yet he leaves the other two kids alone.  Weird, Right?

Now on to another dog layout.  This one is our beloved Bulldog, Bomber.  This photo was taken at one of my husbands regular house parties just before we met and I moved in 5 months later.  Bomber was the “Man” of the house.  He had his own couch, routine and an attitude.  I messed with that when I moved in and his attitude took a long time to adjust.

Precious Moments

This is my take on this months Scrap the Girls Challenge. This month is a moodboard called “Seaglass”.

Moodboard 4.jpg

All the sea inspiration meant I just had to use a photo of the sea.  I settled on this series of photos of my daughter Poppy taken last October at Kingscliff.  The colours of the ocean are a perfect match.

Here is my Layout:

PicMonkey Collage.jpg

This layout is all about texture.  I added colour to start then strips of material, some gyprock tape and then bubble wrap.  Yep I used bubble wrap to add some textural “glass rocks” to the layout.  I was a bit of work to hand stitch them all on but I think it was well worth it.  I really love the way it turned out.
