A Layout – SPARKLE

This blog post was written back in March, I was all prepared to share it and then something made me send it in to Scrapbooking Memories Magazine for consideration for publishing and it was accepted for printing. It was printed last month so I am now in the all clear to share it….

This month has been a little more challenging for scrapbooking challenges time wise. My darling husband has been on holidays and then tacked his paternity leave on to the end of them as well. While it’s been lovely to have him at home for a bit, it’s been very disruptive to daily routine with the kids and my time to create. I have found some time in the evenings after the kids are finally settled and I am not totally exhausted, to work on some layouts bit by bit. 2 have been picked up for publishing so that’s nice, others are still works in progress and a few are finished.

The first challenge this month that caught my eye was the Sassy Scrappers Moodboard. The pastels and feathers with a splash of gold – dreamy. Check it out here.

I loved the feathers but didn’t want to hand cut any (I purchased a die yesterday so look out for future feather layouts) so, I drew inspiration from the colours, the saying in the top left hand image and the confetti banner in the bottom right photo.

To be honest this layout didn’t quite come together as I saw it in my head but it turned out very pretty in the end so I’m happy with it.

My darling husband surprised me with a late birthday present at the beginning of the month too – A large box of Faber Castell gelatos. I’ve had a bit of a play and used these on the confetti banner I made for this layout. They are really a great product and you can achieve so many different effects.

I have to say the Sassy Scrappers moodboards are one if my favourites. I can’t wait to see what next month brings.
