This layout was published in the latest issue of Scrapbooking Memories Magazine. It is a picture of my husbands dog that passed away the year before we started having children. My husband had him when we met and I grew to love that dog just as much as my husband. He was a big dog that thought he was small. He had the idea if his head could fit somewhere then his whole body could fit.
The submission theme was pets. As we don’t have any at the moment, I went and pulled out a box of photos of Bomber that I had printed and have been meaning to put in an album for my husband. Maybe this is the kick start I need to get them sorted and out of a storage box and on to layouts.
I used the Fancy Pants Office Suite papers on a green American Crafts plain background. I wanted to keep the layout fairly clean to keep the focus on the photo. I like that it uses a lot of soft colours but isn’t feminine, he’s a boy dog and I wanted the layout to reflect that without being stated. I went back to the circles that I have used on previous layouts. Its a nice way to frame the picture without needing much else. I hope you like it. Do give the circles a try, there are plenty of ways you can use a circle on a layout it doesn’t have to be a big one in the centre. Maybe use a punch or expoy flairs. Raid your stash and see what you can come up with.
